AFS & Kerberos Best Practices 2006 Presentation

The University of Michigan uses a software package named filedrawers, to run a web-based file manager service named mfile to manage AFS directories. We're able to accomplish this by working with the mod_waklog apache module.

Mod_waklog is developed in C. Mod_waklog acquires AFS credentials of the logged in user and allows Apache to run as that user. U-M uses CoSign to obtain the user's Kerberos credentials. See the readme for a more technical overview of how mod_waklog works.

The mod_waklog source code is available via git under an open source license. Bug tracking, feature requests, forums, and mailing lists are available through Source Forge.

Please send us feedback.
